Košljun

The islet of Košljun is a unique cultural and historical place that should be visited during your stay on the Island of Krk.

The islet of Košljun is located in Puntarska draga, approximately 800 metres from Punat and 190 metres from St. Nicholas’ shore (towards Krk). It can be reached by taxi boat from Punat or by excursion boats from the Town of Krk. It has no catering facilities which makes it ideal for a short excursion of a couple of hours. The range of this island with its lush vegetation is somewhat larger than a thousand metres, its surface area is 68 thousand square meters, whilst the highest point is just 6 metres above sea level. There is a Franciscan monastery where monks have hidden a number of valuables collected over the centuries, which have been preserved to this day. There are a number of precious collections exposed on the islet: ethnographic, natural history, archaeological and a collection of sacral objects, which are well worth a look.
