Church of the Mother of God of Health in the town of Krk

Church of the Mother of God of Health in the town of Krk

This church belonged to the former Benedictine monastery, which was located here until the middle of the 15th century. By the middle of the 19th century it was dedicated to St. Michael. In 1850, its title was changed in order for the Mother of God to provide protection from cholera. It was built in the Romanesque style, and the first written mention dates back to 1271 in a deed of donation to the monastery of St. Michael.
