St. John’s Church in Baška

St. John’s Church in Baška

The plateau in front of the church provides a breath taking view over Baška and the neighbouring islands.

St. John the Baptist’s Church is located on the hillside, northeast of Baška. Its bell tower is “adorned” with a bell dating back to 1431 known as Starac (the Old man). In the Middle Ages this was Baška castle’s first parish church.  The remains of the castle can still be seen not far from the church.
